Factors Influencing the Adoption of Digital Health Apps
Background
Digital health apps are transforming healthcare by enabling users to monitor their health, adhere to medication, and maintain healthier lifestyles. Despite their potential, adoption rates vary widely across different demographics and health conditions. While factors like user interface, perceived usefulness, and trust in app security are known to play a role, the interplay between these elements and user behaviour remains underexplored. This research aims to investigate the key factors influencing the adoption of digital health apps and examine how personalization, usability, and perceived value impact user decision-making.
Learning Outcome (LO)
- LO #1: Understand the factors driving and hindering the adoption of digital health apps and learn about technology acceptance frameworks (e.g., TAM, UTAUT etc)
- LO #2: Analyze the role of personalization, usability, and trust in technology acceptance.
- LO #3: Evaluate the influence of demographic and behavioural characteristics on adoption.
- LO #4: Develop recommendations for app developers to improve adoption rates.
