Establishing endometriotic organoid screening platform
inBiology
Background
Biophysical and molecular features of human endometrium are recapitulated using endometriotic organoids. These organoids can be developed using epithelial and stromal cell lines using extracellular matrix. Cellular crosstalk and cell interactions are studied using organoid models of the endometrium. An ideal model for in vitro studies on endometrium is necessary to understand pathophysiological mechanisms and for devising novel therapies for endometriosis.
Learning Outcome (LO)
- LO #1: Literature on endometriotic organoid studies will be studied using PubMed database and specific research advances in the field using organoid models will be discussed.
- LO #2: Critical challenges in developing endometriotic organoids and data validation are reviewed.
