Comparing cryopreservation of tissue versus cell suspensions for Fertility preservation
inBiology
Background
Cryopreservation of tissue and cellular suspensions is necessary for germ cell transplantation research and clinical applications for fertility preservation. Strategies which are useful for tissue cryopreservation may not be equally effective for preserving cellular suspensions. These cryopreserved tissues and cells can be later used for in vitro gametogenesis and transplantation purpose.
Learning Outcome (LO)
- LO #1: Assess data on cell viability, cell morphology, before preserving and after thawing of cryopreserved material. Compare viability data from cell suspensions and tissue.
- LO #2: Effect of cryopreservation protocols need to be assessed, like cryoprotectant formulation, cryosensitivity of cells and tissues, culture conditions before freezing.
