Background

In the earlier times there were two set of people, one who believed earth is flat and the others who believed earth is round. If you go on a plain land, as far as you can see, the earth seems to be flat with minor irregularities. However, several interesting experiments with pendulums, by observation of ships and observation of stars, humanity came to know that the earth is round.
