Effectiveness of Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana in Financial Inclusion
Background
Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) is a financial inclusion initiative launched by the Government of India in August 2014. Its goal is to provide affordable access to financial services, including zero-balance bank accounts, remittances, credit, insurance, and pensions, particularly to previously unbanked populations in rural and semi-urban areas. This project examines the effectiveness of PMJDY in expanding banking services, promoting financial inclusion, and integrating a large section of the population into the formal financial system
