Importance of Colours in Branding
Background
Colours play a vital role in branding, as they can evoke emotions, communicate messages, and shape consumers’ perceptions of a product or company. Different colours can have specific psychological associations. This project aims to explore how the use of various colours in logos and packaging influences how consumers perceive and react to different products. Are there significant differences in how male and female students perceive colour in branding? By understanding these influences, students can gain insights into the strategic use of colours in marketing and branding.
Learning Outcome (LO)
- LO #1: Understand how colours can create feelings or send messages in marketing.
- LO #2: Conduct a survey asking peers to associate emotions or qualities with different product colours.
- LO #3: Use the survey results to suggest colour schemes for different types of products (e.g. food, toys, technology).
