It is a popular belief that the man evolved from the apes. However, this is a scientific claim based on the theory of evolution which may/may not be true. The theory of evolution is widely accepted as a theory which explains diverse phenomena, but a single counterexample could serve as a fallacy to the empirical reasoning here. There have been theories countering the theory of evolution through scientific arguments and evidence, moreover, the case of man evolving from an ape is merely based on correlation which is considered a weak argument in sciences.
