Power Smart: AI Predictions for Cutting Household Energy Use
Background
This project introduces students to artificial intelligence (AI), energy data analytics, and sustainability concepts by tackling a significant environmental issue: high household energy consumption. Students will work to develop an AI system capable of predicting energy use based on daily activities and appliance utilization. This project aims to help families optimize their energy consumption, leading to a more sustainable lifestyle and a reduced environmental footprint.
Learning Outcome (LO)
- LO #1: AI for Environmental Impact Reduction
Understand how AI can be applied to improve energy efficiency, focusing on its role in demand forecasting and adaptive energy management within household settings. - LO #2: Data Analysis of Household Energy Patterns
Develop skills in analysing energy consumption data to identify patterns influenced by various factors such as time, weather, and household activities. - LO #3: Smart Energy Recommendations
