As India advances towards becoming a global hub for semiconductor manufacturing, understanding the basics of transistors and the broader semiconductor industry is essential. This project will introduce students to the fundamental principles of transistor physics and explore how India is shaping its semiconductor future. Students will also examine India’s technological transition from being a manufacturing hub reliant on external technology to developing indigenous semiconductor capabilities.

  • LO#1: Understand the basic concept of transistors and their role in modern electronics. 
  • LO#2: Explore the process of doping and the materials (like silicon) used in semiconductor manufacturing.
  • LO#3: Analyse India’s role in the global semiconductor supply chain, including the local availability of raw materials and the nation’s technology roadmap.
